Passed away peacefully on December 9th at 89 years of age.
Patricia (Patsy) was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Bernadette and George, and her brothers George (Dianne) and James, and sister Paula O’Malley (Robert). She is survived by her brother Michael (Betty Jean), her sister Elizabeth Eastman (William), and her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Wilkinson. Patsy was also the loving aunt and great aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Patricia grew up in Dorchester with her five siblings. She received her RN at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree from Boston College and her Doctorate from Boston University. She was a tenured Professor at the Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing and became head nurse of the Medical Surgical & Neurology units at Mass General Hospital.
Patsy lived a life filled with her faith, family and friends. She attended daily mass and described her faith as the most important aspect of her life. Upon her retirement she was a eucharistic minister and volunteered with the elderly at her parish church.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Agatha’s Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton MA, on Saturday, January 6th at 11am. Interment will be held at a later date.
