Yolanda "Yolie" Ruth (Cappola) Donovan

Yolanda Ruth (Cappola) Donovan, known as Yolie, of Taunton, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Yolie was greeted by the love of her life, "Franny", who passed 64 years ago, and whom she missed every day since his untimely passing. 

Yolie was the devoted wife of the late Francis L. "Franny" Donovan (BPD). She was the devoted mother of Linda S. Grant of Vero Beach, FL, Thomas F. Donovan of Taunton, MA, Brian J. Donovan and Timothy P. Donovan both of Berlin, NH. She was also the loving Nana of 10 grandchildren and the Nonni of 16 great grandchildren.

Yolie was born in Quincy, MA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Pietro and Anna Cappola. She was the sister of the late George Cappola of Weymouth, Eva Mercurio, Ida Ricci, Ralph Cappola, Pasquale Cappola and Peter Cappola, all of Quincy, Meo Cappola of New Jersey and Irma Estes of Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by her sister-in-law Norma Cappola of Shrewsbury.

Yolie was left a widow at a very young age with four children. After Franny passed, she had her four children to take care of and went on to become a CNA. She was a very dedicated CNA to her patients, a role she truly loved as she loved taking care of people and doing for them. She worked hard, persevered and raised her children, all while keeping a spotless home and being able to put a great meal on the table without a second thought. She will remain unmatched in these talents.

Along the line, Yolie picked up the game of golf and immediately fell in love with the game. She golfed at Wollaston Country Club, Pembroke Country Club and Pine Valley Country Club. When playing golf got to be a bit much for her, Yolie would watch any golf game that was on TV. She was very proud of her abilities as a golfer.

Funeral service at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Avenue, Milton, MA on Wednesday, April 3rd at 1 p.m. Visiting hour prior to the service Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Burial immediately following service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.
