William Anastas Jr. Obituary

William T. Anastas Jr., age 70, of Milton passed away January 2nd at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born and raised in S. Boston, he graduated from Boston Latin High School and the University of Pennsylvania.  Growing up he worked at his family’s market, Miller’s Market, in South Boston.  He spent the majority of his professional career working for New England Telephone and after retirement he worked as an Accountant for G.W. Wade in Wellesley.  In his yearly years he enjoyed playing in the band, Beggars Opera, in venues throughout the greater Boston area.  He was an active and devoted parishioner and Board Member of Holy Trinity Church in S. Boston for many years.  He was extremely devoted to his family, enjoyed taking cross country trips and was a dedicated coach of youth soccer and baseball.

Beloved husband of Denise (Lazarovich).  Father of William T. Anastas III and his wife Maud of CA and Brian Anastas of Somerville.  Grandfather of Flynn W. Anastas of CA.  Son of Violet Anastas of Milton and the late William T. Sr.  Brother of Theodora Anastas of Quincy, Cheryl Anastas of Milton, Lisa Anastas and husband Brian Cheshire of NJ. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Friday 4-7 pm. Funeral Service at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10:00 am. Burial in Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the South Shore 30 Reservoir Park Dr. Rockland, MA 02370.
