Virginia C. O’Brien, age 77, of Braintree, formerly of Falmouth passed away February 22nd at South Shore Hospital. Born in Boston, she was raised in Hyde Park and graduated from Hyde Park High School. Ginny worked as a secretary at the State House in Boston for many years and most recently for the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Falmouth before retiring. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Beloved daughter of the late Virginia A. (Brooks) and John J. O’Brien. Sister of Jane A. Kelley of Bridgewater, Joan McIntyre of Braintree, and the late John J. O’Brien, Jr. and Mary E. Sheil. Aunt of Lauren Ward, Thomas Sheil, Susanne Turner and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her best friend Joan Carmichael and her 4 legged friend Mack. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Agatha Church, Milton Monday, March 1st, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
