It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Hardcastle share his passing on September 20, 2024. Tom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.


Tom was the son of Francis Hardcastle and Ruth (Tilton) Hardcastle of Milton. He grew up in Milton and graduated from Arch Bishop Williams High School. Tom served in the Navy and later joined the Massachusetts State Police. He raised his family on the coast in California where he lived for many years before returning to Massachusetts to live out the remainder of his life in Wollaston. Tom was an avid pool player and worked at perfecting his game at the Elks and also played with several leagues. He enjoyed history, reading, gardening and spending time in nature. Tom was also great at Jeopardy and loved laughing at his own jokes.


Tom was preceded in death by his siblings Joseph Hardcastle, Mary Smyth, and Virginia “Ginny” Motta.


Tom is survived by his beloved partner Sandy Miller, children Thomas Hardcastle, Julia Hardcastle Leitch, Sarah Levy, grandchildren John and Grace Levy, Sandy’s children Joey Lapchick and Elisa Chamy Filoramo and his dear sister Elaine McCabe.

Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave., Milton on Saturday September 28 from 9:00-10:00am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Parish at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery.
