Sonja K. Fisher, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on June 8, 1946, to Olaf and Helga Jensen of Norway, Sonja grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, which shaped her into the compassionate person she was.
A proud graduate of Milton High School's class of 1964, Sonja carried the spirit of her alma mater throughout her life. She furthered her education at Boston University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Music in 1968. Her passion for the arts was not just a field of study but a lifelong pursuit that brought joy to her and those around her.
Sonja dedicated many years of service to Milton High School, the very institution that had set her on her path. As a retired employee, she left behind a legacy of commitment and care that continued to inspire students and staff long after her departure.
Her love for music was paralleled only by her love for the serene summers spent on Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. The beach was her haven, a place where she found peace and inspiration, often reflecting on the beauty of life as she gazed upon the horizon.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William K. Fisher. Together, they shared a life full of harmony and understanding, creating a symphony of memories that will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to witness their love.
As we bid farewell to Sonja K. Fisher, her melody will continue to play in the hearts of those she has left behind, a timeless tribute to a life beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sonja’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alzfdn.org
A graveside service will be held on Friday September 20th at Milton Cemetery at 10am.
