Saundra T. “Sauce” Skinner (Sweeney) of Milton passed away May 4th at the Queen Anne’s Nursing Home in Hingham. Born in Boston, she graduated from Milton High School, Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA and also received her LPN after taking courses at Southeastern Regional and Massasoit Community College. She lived most of her life in Milton and also spent 16 happy years at 1000 Southern Artery in Quincy. Sauce was a Crossing Guard and Matron with the Stoughton Police and worked as an RN at Boston City Hospital and at the Goddard Hospital in Stoughton. She was a licensed Hypnotist, and was active with the Girl Scouts and 4H. She enjoyed chess, golf, swimming, the Boston Red Sox, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed flying and took lessons at the Taunton Airport.
Beloved wife of the late George A. (Ret. Det. MPD). Mother of Valerie J. Welter & her husband Robert of Waitsfield, VT and Dawn M. Skinnner of Naples, FL. Sister of the late Myles J. Sweeney and Maureen Gariety. Dear grandmother of Bethany R., Caitlin A. and Eamon T. Welter, also survived by 4 great grandchildren and many close friends. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton Thursday 3-7 PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend a Graveside Service at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Friday afternoon at 1:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be in her memory to Queen Anne’s Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 50 Recreational Park Rd Hingham, MA 02043.
