Roseann Plant (Connaughton) passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on February 4, 2023.
She was born September 11, 1930 in Dorchester to Patrick J and Rose A (Fallon) Connaughton who were from Roscommon, Ireland.
Roseann attended school at St. Matthew’s school in Dorchester, and high school at St. Thomas Aquinas in Jamaica Plain.
She worked a secretary working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years and then left to raise her family.
She spent her whole life caring and helping everyone around her. Roseann was a member of the Catholic Women’s Bowling League for 20+ years. She spent many hours volunteering at St Mary’s Church in Milton. She also volunteered at the polling booths in Milton.
She and Robert E. Plant (deceased 2001) were married on August 3, 1957. Together they moved to Stoughton in 1957 until 1967 when they moved their family to Milton for 40 years. Roseann moved to Mansfield in 2007 to be closer to her children.
Roseann and Robert vacationed in Vermont and Cape Cod where they finally purchased their dream home in Harwichport in 1978. They spent the rest of their lives vacationing there together and making memories.
She was the beloved mother of Stephen (deceased 2013) and his wife Bethany of Amesbury MA, Lawrence and his wife Carolyn of Rockland MA, Edward and his wife Susan of Norton MA, Richard, and his wife Jeanne of Chester NH
And Carolyn Burnham and her husband Phil of Mansfield, MA.
Loving sister to the late Mary (Peg) Mattioli (Connaughton), the late John Connaughton, and the late Richard (Dick) Connaughton.
She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew, Meredith, Patrick, Jonathan, Kevin, Julia, Angela & Matthew,
Roseann is also survived by two great grandchildren, Xander & Tania
She was a loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend to anyone she encountered in her lifetime.
Visitation will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral home, 326 Granite Ave in Milton on Wednesday February 8th from 4:00-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Agatha Parish on Thursday February 9th at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery.
