Robert Feeney Obituary

Robert A. Feeney of Hull, formerly of Hyde Park passed away August 2nd.  Born and raised in Hyde Park to James and Margaret (Galvin) Feeney in 1934, Bob was graduated from Hyde Park High in 1952 and then spent four years in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Bob received his Bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College (1960) and an M.A.T. in English from Brown University (1966).  He then spent most of his teaching career in the Boston Public Schools as a high school English teacher. 

Bob loved to reminisce about growing up in Hyde Park and was an avid tennis player into his eighties.  He volunteered for many years with St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Ann’s Church in Hull. 

Beloved husband for 57 years of Sheila A. (Schroeder).  Father of Siobhan Feeney of CA and Lauren Steffen and her husband Shawn of S. Attleboro.  Grandfather of Arianna of S. Attleboro.  Brother of the late Joan DeRoche, Jim Feeney, and Jack Feeney. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Wednesday August 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish (St. Ann Church), 208 Samoset Ave, Hull Thursday morning August 11th at 11:00 am.  Burial Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm.  Veteran United States Air Force.  In lieu of flowers, donations may the Society of St. James the Apostle, 24 Clark St., Boston, MA 02109-9923.
