Robert J. Dunn Jr.

Robert J. Dunn Jr., age 91, of Milton passed away April 28th at home.  Born and raised in Jamaica Plain he graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and Northeastern University.  He worked as the Generation Coordinator for Boston Edison before retiring in 1989.  After retirement he worked as a Consultant for New England Power before retiring in 1997.  He was an active parishioner and daily communicant of St. Mary of the Hills Church in Milton where he was an Arimathean, Eucharistic Minister, a Lector, a member of the Early Bird Men’s Group, and Co-Founder of the Shattuck Shelter Outreach.  Bob was named Catholic Layman of the Year for his dedicated service to St. Mary of the Hills Parish.  He was also on the Chaplaincy Team at Mass General Hospital.  Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Barrett).  Father of Ellen M. Dunn of Milton, Patrick A. Dunn of Boston and the late Robert J. III.  Brother of the late Mary M. Dunn.  He is also survived by his caretaker Joan Ward of Weymouth.  Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Hills Church Milton Tuesday morning at 10:00.  Burial Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, 65 Father Carney Dr. Milton, MA 02186.
