Rita's professional life was marked by her dedication and hard work. She was a respected sales manager at Howard Johnsons in Braintree, where she won several awards for her skill and dedication. She later became a homemaker, dedicating her time to the care and nurturing of her family.

She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed spending winters in sunny Florida. Rita also had a passion for travel, and she loved going on cruises. She and Ralph spent many happy hours cruising Boston Harbor on their boat. Even the simple task of cleaning her house brought her joy, as she took pride in creating a welcoming and comfortable home for her loved ones.
