Richard C. Regan, a cherished family man, respected colleague, and talented musician, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at Beth Israel Boston. Born in Dorchester, MA, and raised in Milton, Richard left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him with his friendly demeanor and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Ricky, the beloved husband of Wendy Regan (Matthews), was a devoted father to Matthew Regan and his fiancée Ouissal Bentkahou, and he cherished the memory of his late daughter Alison Regan. He was a proud grandfather to Layan and Roman Regan, whose adventures and achievements brought him immeasurable joy. His siblings, Lani (Janice) Swan of Pembroke, Kathy Egitto of Holbrook, Debbi Densmore of Hull, Dianne Earner of Abington, and Coco (MaryJane) Barlow of N.C., remember him fondly, along with the late Jeannie Sullivan and Jima Regan.
Ricky attended Milton High School and eventually became owner operator of several nursing homes for numerous years. Ricky then began a fulfilling career at Grand Circle Travel in Boston holding several different positions until retirement. His professionalism and warmth made him a favorite among colleagues and clients alike. Richard's work ethic and his ability to connect with people were among his most commendable traits.
Ricky’s passion for life extended well beyond his professional endeavors. He was an active figure in local sports, coaching Milton Travel Basketball, baseball, and soccer, where his guidance and encouragement shaped the lives of many young athletes. His love for music was equally profound; as a member of the "Bobby O Band," Ricky’s skills with the guitar, piano, and harmonica delighted audiences and brought joy to countless evenings spent in song and celebration.
Traveling was another of Ricky’s joys, and he took every opportunity to explore new places with the love of his life Wendy. His competitive spirit found a home in the local Pickleball leagues, where he forged lasting friendships.
Above all, Ricky’s greatest pleasure was the time he spent with his grandchildren, whether he was imparting life lessons, sharing a laugh, or simply being present in the moment, these cherished times were the highlights of his days.
Ricky’s friendly nature was not just a personal trait but a way of life. He approached each day with a smile, a kind word, and an open heart. His ability to make friends wherever he went and his readiness to lend a helping hand were qualities that defined him as much as his many interests and talents.
As we bid farewell to Richard C. Regan, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the sweet melody of music. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and the joyous echoes of a life that touched so many. Richard's memory will live on in the stories told, the music played, and the lives he influenced, forever reminding us of the extraordinary man we were so privileged to know.
A celebration of his life will be held at Tirrell Room 254 Quarry Street, Quincy, MA. Sunday 4/6 12-4pm -
