Richard C. Gobbi Sr. of West Yarmouth, formerly of Hyde Park passed away August 22, 2022 with his wife by his side. Born to Vitto and Elaine Gobbi in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School.  He retired from Conrail where he worked as a Trans Flow Operator for many years. He was a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps and Senior Corps where he created lifelong friendships. Richie was an avid sports fan and die hard New York Yankees fan, he loved watching Western movies and was famous for his homemade meatballs and sauce. He was a loving Grampie and most especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, music concerts and dance recitals.


Beloved husband of Patricia A. (Ryan) with whom he recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Father of Richard Gobbi and his wife Michelle of Canton, Paul Gobbi and his wife Kristen of Milford, Ryan Gobbi and his significant other Carrie Heatherwick of Weymouth, Gregory Gobbi of Hyde Park, and Allison Gobbi of Whitman. Adoring Grampie of Emma, Michael, Jillian, Alaina, Lauren, Jameson and Scott. Brother of Barbara DiRusso of Randolph, Robert Gobbi of Phoenix, AZ, Judith Driscoll of Walpole and the late Victor Gobbi. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Visitation Parish (St. Elizabeth’s Church) in Milton on Thursday 9/1/22 at 11:30 am. Visiting hours for friends and family at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton on Thursday morning prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
