Richard W. Deady Jr. of Quincy passed away February 18th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Quincy, he graduated from Quincy Vocational Technical High School and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a Master Metal Finisher and was the Owner and Operator of South Shore Plating Co. in Quincy for over 60 years. Ritchie enjoyed boating and was a member of Old Colony Yacht Club and Green Harbor Yacht Club and was also a car enthusiast and a member of the Boston Area Roadsters. He was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in W. Quincy where he served as an usher. Every year Ritchie was known for taking the disabled veteran’s out on Boston Harbor during the summertime.
Beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Moran). Father of Richard W. Deady III and his wife Danielle of Quincy, Michael J. Deady and his wife Julie of Quincy, and Katy E. Koski and her husband Michael of Milton. Son of the late Richard and Anne Deady of Quincy. Brother of Janet Libman of Weymouth, James Deady of Green Harbor, Kathleen Infeld of AZ, Joseph Deady of Duxbury, Robert Deady of Marshfield, Sharon Howard of Gloucester, Thomas Deady of Quincy and the late Ann Buchanan. Grandfather of Isabella, Matthew, Tyler, Gabriella, Victoria, Brittany, Kristen, and Monica. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church W. Quincy Thursday morning at 10:00. Burial private.
