Prince Oliver McNeil of Dorchester, MA was born to Ferdinand and Felicia McNeil in Port Antonio-Portland, Jamaica, West Indies on July 17, 1946. It was a joyous birthday that he also shared with his beloved mother and later with his nephew. Prince Oliver moved to the United States in 1957 at age 11, where he completed school at English High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and went on to serve his country in Vietnam, Germany and the United States over the course of his service career. He also studied at Northeastern University in Boston.
Prince Oliver met and married the love of his life, Joyce, in 1972 and they would go on to enjoy 48 years of marriage together. Together Prince Oliver and Joyce were dedicated to their Christain faith and became members of Greenwood United Methodist Church in 1973. Through the years Prince Oliver had many hobbies and joys including sports, electronics, wood working, mechanics and spending time with his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Joyce of Dorchester, MA. He is survived by brother Dan and sister-in law Ann, brother Arthur and sister-in law Gloria, sister Joan and brother-in law Donnat, sister Marjorie, brother-in laws Gene and sister in-law Desiree, brother-in law Leslie and sister-in law Sheila, sister-in laws Enid and Carmel and brother in-law MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents, brother William, sister Eileen, brother-in laws Fred and Noel and sister-in laws Joyce and Ivy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and grand-nieces. Prince Oliver was known for having a gentle and private demeanor that could be interrupted for an easy and broad smile which he will be remembered for always.
