Paula Anne (Power) Rogerson

Paula Anne (Power) Rogerson was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, Nana, Grana, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 68 years, Peter F. Rogerson, Jr, her 6 children: John Rogerson and his wife Sue, Mary Rogerson Ghiorse and her husband Richard, Nancy Rogerson MacCune and her husband Bob, Peter Rogerson III and his wife Janet, Stephen Rogerson and his wife Nancy, and Paula Rogerson Doherty and her husband Richie, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Growing up in Belmont, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Anne (Farren) Power. She was the sister of the late Joan Power Timmons and a kindred spirit to her late cousin, Nancy Moran Lanigan.

Paula’s strong faith and unwavering devotion to her husband and family steered everything she did in life. A proud graduate of Regis College, she gave up her career as a social worker at Boston City Hospital to raise her family. She was happiest when her home was filled with her children, their children, their friends, neighbors and relatives. She loved hosting holidays, especially Christmas and 4th of July complete with games, a neighborhood parade and fireworks. A self-proclaimed sun-worshipper, she loved her summers on Humarock Beach, Popponesset, and many winters in Naples, Florida. She enjoyed reading, shopping, baking her famous blueberry cake, tailgating at BC football, and, most of all, loved to have a baby in her arms. Paula saw the good in everyone she met and treated them all with her kind heart. She will be dearly missed.

Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday August 12th from 4-7 pm.  Relatives and friends invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. John the Baptist Church Quincy, Friday morning August 13th at 11:00 am.  Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paula’s name to Norwell VNA and Hospice 120 Longwater Dr. Norwell, MA 02061.
