Paul Reardon Obituary

Paul W. Reardon, age 78, a born and bred Dorchester Native passed away December 8th at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.  Throughout his life Paul had a number of occupations.  Each occupation seemed to revolve around helping others while putting a smile on their faces.  Upon graduating from Christopher Columbus High School Paul entered the United States Coast Guard at the age of 18.  He was proudly based out of Boston, and his area of interest was as a medic.  After leaving the Coast Guard Paul used his experience and love for helping others to lead the way in his occupations and lifestyle.  With his experience in Medicine Paul decided to open and run his own ambulance business out of Boston called Reardon Ambulance.  On top of running his own ambulance company, Paul also worked for Boston Edison (now NSTAR), ran Reardon Limousine Service, owned Nan’s Card and gift Shop, owned a horse stable in in Plymouth, and was a Court Officer for the Dedham Court Systems.  When he was not working, you could often find him volunteering at St. Mark’s Parish in Dorchester wherever he was needed.  It was here that he was in charge of running the Sea Scouts, where he held the highest position of the “Skipper” for the St. Mark’s Sea Explorers Ship in 1958, where he would take the 8th graders on a Graduation Trip, where he coordinated numerous trips to Washington DC, World fairs, and more.  He gained the love and respect of St. Mark’s Parish Members for being a kind hearted gentlemen.  As if his occupations and volunteering was not enough you could also find Paul on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.  Paul was a genuine, compassionate, kind hearted gentlemen who wanted nothing more in life than to help others.  He loved to be around friends and family, and he loved to help the individuals of his community.  He was always the first person to lend a helping hand.  If everyone in the world could be half of the man that Paul was, then the world would be a better place.

Loving son of the late George and Anna Reardon.  Beloved brother of Ann M. Powers of Dorchester, George Reardon of Braintree and the late Joseph Reardon.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Visiting hours at the Alfred D.
