Paul P. Devine, a treasured soul and pillar of joy within his community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2024, in Milton, Massachusetts. Born on January 6, 1933, in South Boston, MA, Paul's life was one marked by devotion to his family, his Catholic Faith, a steadfast work ethic, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. He was a long time parishioner at St. Agatha Church in Milton

In 1967, within the sacred walls of St. Mary's Church in Waltham, Paul united in marriage with his lifelong love, Donna Williams. Together they embarked on a journey of love, laughter, and the shared joy of raising a family. He was the cherished father of Kathleen Doherty and her husband John of Braintree, Donna Devine-Covelle and her husband Tom of Wakefield, Theresa Devine Jolley and her husband Michael of Milton, and Paul Devine and his wife Rebecca of Hingham. A brother to the late John, Tom, Bob Devine, and Mary Averill, Paul's memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

As the loving Grampy to Devin, Jessica, Hunter, and Rebecca Doherty; Zach, Julia, and Christina Covelle; Joe, Brendan, Gillian, and Emma Jolley; Shamus, Bailey, and Sophie Devine, Paul's legacy of love will continue to blossom within each of them. His life was also enriched by many nieces, nephews, and friends, who will recall his warmth, sense of humor and companionship with fondness.

An alumnus of South Boston High School, Paul furthered his education by earning a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. His professional life was largely spent in service to the Boston Edison Company, where he worked until his retirement. Paul's dedication to his country was exemplified when he was drafted by the Army in 1953 and stationed in Texas, serving with honor and distinction.

Paul was a man whose interests were as varied as they were passionate. A true family man at heart, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. His hands skillfully tended his garden, just as his heart tenderly cared for those he loved. His adventurous spirit led him and his cherished ones on memorable family trips to destinations like Aruba, Arizona, the Bahamas, and Florida, creating a tapestry of memories that would last a lifetime. Summers spent at Wingaersheek Beach became a treasured tradition.

In addition to his love for travel, Paul was a keen investor in stocks, always keeping a watchful eye on the sways of the market. His prowess on the bowling lanes was matched only by his crafty handiwork; in his younger days, there wasn't a task he couldn't tackle, much to the benefit and admiration of everyone around him.

To describe Paul simply as loving, handy, and friendly would only scratch the surface of the man he was. He lived a life exemplifying these virtues, touching everyone he knew with his amiable demeanor and readiness to help. His was a presence that radiated warmth and invited conversation, his laughter a melody that echoed in the hearts of those who loved him.

Paul P. Devine's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, dedication, and the joy of shared experiences. As we bid farewell to this exceptional man, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our lives. His spirit, a beacon of love and friendliness, will continue to guide us just as the memories we hold dear will keep him close, always.

Paul's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and though his physical presence will be sorely missed, the essence of his being will forever remain a part of the lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Paul, your legacy endures.
