Patrick G. Morrissey, age 93, of Dorchester passed away on June 19th. Born and raised in the village of Bullaun outside the town of Loughrea, County Galway Ireland, he emigrated to the United States at age 21 and lived in Dorchester for over 60 years. He worked as a Supervisor for Perkit Folding Box in Hyde Park for 45 years before retiring in 1997. He was an active Parishioner at St. Gregory’s Parish where he was involved with Bingo, CYO, and St. Vincent DePaul. He was also extremely devoted to his family and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Beloved husband of Nora A. (Goonan). Father of Mary A. Delaney and her husband John of Whitman, John J. Morrissey of Dorchester, and Thomas H. Morrissey and his wife Stephanie of Canton. Brother of Theresa Earls of AZ, and the late Esther Brophy, Bridie Mannion, Philomena Larkin, John J. Morrissey, Robert Morrissey, Martin Morrissey, and Nellie Walsh. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Ryan, Sarah, Brendan, Stephen, Lauren, Mary Kate, Erin, Kelly and Patrick and 4 great grandchildren Nora, Jack, Addison and Kinsley and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Due to the Current Covid 19 restrictions, only 20 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time. Masks are required, and guests should bring their own pens to sign the register book. Funeral services are private.
