Patricia "Patty" Hirtle Obituary

Patricia Ann Sellars Hirtle (“Patty”), 72, passed away on January 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Patty was the daughter of the late Patricia and Robert Galvin of Milton, beloved wife of Richard Hirtle of East Dennis for 48 years. Loving mother to three daughters, Jennifer Kilroy and her husband Jeffrey of Pembroke, Jacqueline Hirtle of Mashpee, and Julianne Talley and her husband Donald of North Quincy. Nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren: Cameron, Connor, and Chase; and Bristol, Savannah, Beckham, and Karter. She also held a special place in her heart for the family’s beloved grand dog, Raisin.

Patty was a cherished sister to Maryanne Daly of RI, the late Judith Misner of Quincy, Denise Galvin of Weymouth, Ellen Fletcher of West Bridgewater, and Roberta Galvin of Milton.  Her deep connection with her siblings was evident in the joy and laughter that filled their gatherings.

Patty was raised in East Milton, and later became a longtime resident of Whitman, a town she loved deeply and where she formed lifelong friendships. She believed strongly in giving back to her community and dedicated countless hours of service.  She served as a coordinator for Whitman Youth Cheerleading and was an active member and former President of the Whitman Mothers Club, where her leadership, dedication, warmth, left a lasting impact. For ten years, she also volunteered at Consigning Kids on Cape Cod, generously supporting families and children through her time and service.

In her leisure time, Patty had a passion for traveling the world and embraced life with curiosity and joy. She treasured both grand adventures and quiet moments, often enjoying them with a good book and a glass of fine wine.

Above all, Patty will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, and her ability to bring people together. Her memory will live in the hearts of all who loved her and were touched by her kindness.
