Patricia Valentino Obituary

Patricia M. Valentino, a loving spirit driven by her Catholic faith and unwavering family devotion, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 10, 1934, to James B. McAteer and Catherine McAteer, Patricia's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of familial bonds.

Patricia's early years were filled with the love and camaraderie of her family, including her late sister, Kathleen McDonald and her cherished late aunt, Josephine McAteer. She was a graduate of the Dorchester School for Girls (Dorchester High School) and a proud resident of Milton, MA for more than 70 years.

The loving wife of the late Rudolph Valentino, with whom she shared an enduring partnership of over 60 years. Together, they built a life full of children, family and precious memories that would become the foundation of the Valentino legacy.

A loving mother, Patricia's nurturing spirit and passion for life left an indelible mark on the lives of her children. She is survived by John Valentino and his wife Rosemarie of Bourne, Maryann Schofield and her husband Jeff of Plainville, Karen Fallon and her husband Kevin of Walpole, Kevin Valentino and his wife Mary of Franklin, and she was predeceased by her son, the late Mark Valentino.

For more than 34 years, Patricia cared for her second son Mark following an injury that resulted in his quadriplegia. Her commitment to his health, wellbeing and the fulfilment of her “duty as his mother”, was beyond remarkable.  Her amazing gift to Mark allowed him to live a fulfilling life despite his tragic condition. Her children carry forward her lessons of unwavering strength, commitment and unconditional love as exemplified in her care for their brother.

Patricia's role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Lauren, Daniel, Amanda, Michael, Brendan, Patrick, Emily, and Thomas, will forever cherish the moments spent in the comfort of her wisdom and the warmth of her embrace. Her great-grandchildren, Simon, Macie, Mia, and Vienna, were a source of immense pride and happiness, and she delighted in watching them grow.

Patricia was also a beloved aunt. Her nieces and nephews will remember her for her compassionate heart, and the genuine and meaningful impact she had on their lives.

Patricia’s life was well lived as a long-standing resident of Milton. She was blessed with a large group of friends who were her support system in times of need. She remained fiercely loyal to all who called her a friend.  Patricia was extremely proud to be a member of the St. Mary of the Hills parish community and a retired employee of the Town of Milton.

Patricia's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy will be cherished through the stories told, the wisdom imparted, and the love she shared. Her grace, dignity, and spirited personality has left an everlasting mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

As we bid farewell to Patricia M. Valentino, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion, a life that inspired and uplifted, and a life that was the embodiment of love in action. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit remains alive in the minds and hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be honored and preserved, a guiding star for generations to come.

Patricia's life will be commemorated in a ceremony, surrounded by her family and closest friends. In the quiet moments of reflection, we will honor her memory by living out the values she instilled in us, by loving fiercely, and by making the world a kinder, more beautiful place.

We say goodbye to Patricia M. Valentino, not with a sense of loss, but with profound gratitude for the time we were given with an extraordinary woman whose life was a testament to love, family and dedication.
