Michael J. Swan of Milton, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024. Born to the late Charles F. and Mary C. Swan, Michael's life was one of service, laughter, and genuine kindness that touched everyone he met.

Michael, a proud graduate of Milton High School, went on to honorably serve his country as a United States Marine. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to supporting his fellow veterans, working in sales for the Veterans Administration. His earlier years were spent as a beloved mail carrier in Brookline, where his outgoing nature brightened the days of those along his route.

Michael's zest for life was evident in his love for playing darts and bowling. He was an active member of the American Legion in Milton, where his friendly demeanor made him a well-known and much-loved figure. Michael's infectious laugh and the kind way he engaged with people made him unforgettable to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Meagan Stubenburg and her husband Matthew of Hawaii, and his son, Michael Swan of Virginia. His legacy of humor and compassion lives on through his grandson, Logan, who was the apple of his eye. Michael also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Cheryl Bennett and Marybeth Mayo of Milton, who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles F. Swan III and Robert F. Swan.

Those who knew Michael would describe him as funny, friendly, and kind. He had a rare ability to light up a room with his presence and make everyone feel at ease. His stories, often filled with humor and wit, will be fondly remembered and retold, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of his family and friends.

Michael's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one individual can have on a community. He was a man who gave much and asked for little in return, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His passing leaves a void that will be felt by many, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

As we say goodbye to Michael J. Swan, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to others. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of kindness and camaraderie will endure forever.
