Maureen E. Kehoe Obituary

Maureen E. Kehoe (Hayes), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Boston, MA, Maureen was raised with the values of faith, family, and kindness that would guide her throughout her life. She attended Fontbonne Academy in Milton and Regis College in Weston and always carried the friendships and lessons of her youth with her. Maureen built a life centered on devotion to those she loved, and she was known for her steady presence, warm heart, and quiet strength.

She was the beloved wife of Joseph Kehoe and a devoted mother to Michelle Lyons and her husband John of Falmouth, John Kehoe and his wife Lisa of Colonie, NY, Paul Kehoe and his wife Kara of Rockville, MD, Patrick Kehoe and his wife Megan of Mashpee, and Brian Kehoe and his wife Vanessa of Glen Mills, PA. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren Kara Upton, her husband Tyler, Joseph Lyons, Jack and Matthew Kehoe, Annabelle and Alexandra Kehoe, Seamus and Brennan Kehoe and Mackenzie and Madeline Kehoe and 2 great-grandchildren Anastasia and Izabella Upton, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She is survived by her brother, Frank Hayes of Florida.

Maureen lived in Milton for 34 years, where she made a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She especially cherished her summers in Falmouth, where the beach and the Cape became a treasured part of her family life. For the last six years, she made her home in Plymouth, where she continued to enjoy the company of her family and the comfort of the community around her.

A longtime parishioner at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Milton and, more recently, St. Bonaventure Church in Manomet, Maureen lived her faith quietly and faithfully. Her church community was an important part of her life, and she found strength and comfort in her spiritual devotion. She also gave her time and support to the BC High Mother’s Guild when her boys were in school, reflecting the deep commitment she always had to her children and their lives.

Maureen was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and her family was the center of her world. She found great joy in spending time with them, celebrating milestones, and being present for the moments that mattered most. Whether it was a birthday, graduation, wedding, school event, or family gathering, she always showed up, even when carrying an oxygen tank became necessary.

When her grandchildren were young, her elaborate birthday cakes were a beloved tradition and often the highlight of the celebration. She also loved gathering around the table for board games, creating countless memories filled with laughter and friendly competition. She also loved blowing bubbles with her great grandchildren.  An avid reader, Maureen rarely went without a book close at hand, and she delighted in challenging herself daily with Wordle, Connections, and Strands on her iPad, often sharing the fun with her children.

Maureen's legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the traditions she created, and the love she so generously gave. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she made and the example she set will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
