Mary Ann had a loving relationship throughout her life with her siblings, the late Carol Ryan of South Boston, Barbara Kane of Stoughton, the late Charles Peck of Quincy, Dianne Foley of Boynton Beach, FL and Michael Peck of Branford, CT.

Mary Ann was married to Tom Egan in 1952 and shared an inseparable bond throughout their 48 years of Marriage. As she says, “Shortly thereafter, our family started to expand so fast that before we knew it, we had 8 sons, 5 daughters and 23 grandchildren.” She fondly recalls the joy, fun and crazy moments that life provided while raising her children and taking care of a booming household. Everyone was welcomed at the Egan’s home on Park Street and it was not uncommon for Tom to come home from work and see a few additional mouths at the dinner table or on the floor watching television. Throughout her life, Mary Ann’s faith drove her love of family, community, acceptance of others and creating long lasting relationships.

Mary Ann was an active member of St. Leo’s Parish and when social unrest caused people to be unable to attend Mass in the late 60’s, her strong beliefs in the teachings of the Church and the importance that it remain in our daily lives, she was instrumental in bringing a Saturday evening Mass to our home for people to attend each week. Along with Tom, she delivered the pre-kana program in the parishes of St. Ambrose, St. Brendan’s and St. Augustine’s.

In her leisure time, Mary Ann loved to swim, go to the Beach, travel on cruises, spend a weekend at the Elms and taking trips to other countries with family and friends. Her favorite place in life was in Wells Maine at Beach Acres Campground where she and Tom spent many, many years of happiness. She loved the incredible, close relationships that were formed with her campground friends, being with her kids and grandkids and enjoying many years of fun times while sitting around campfires telling stories and sharing many laughs.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her loving, kind, and thoughtful nature, which endeared her to everyone she met. She was a woman of grace and dignity, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her warm smile and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
