Marjorie Roundburg Obituary

Marjorie Roundburg (MacDougall), age 100, of Savin Hill and Boston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Marjorie was born and raised in Savin Hill section of Dorchester and graduated from the High School of Practical Arts.  She worked as a Payroll Clerk for the Lahey Clinic in Burlington for over 20 years before retiring at age 65.  She previously worked for the war effort building munitions during WW II.  Marjorie enjoyed crochet, loved music and dancing and enjoyed watching her husband perform in a large band in Norembega Park.  She also was an avid bowler and played in several leagues. She was a widow at a young age but always made sure her daughter Alice was always taken care of.  She also enjoyed traveling every year up to visit family in Nova Scotia.  Marjorie was a member of the W. Roxbury Congregational Church and Choir and later joined the Stratford United Church in W. Roxbury where she helped with the church bookkeeping.    She was also a wonderful cook and baker and at Christmas time she baked near a 100 dozen cookies for her daughter to give to friends at work.  Animals meant so much to her and passed on that love to her daughter.  Family was most important to her and she was proud of any of their accomplishments no matter how big or small.
