Marilyn J. Dufault, of Hull passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at her sister's home in Hingham, MA. Born in Milton, MA, Marilyn's life was a testament to her enduring kindness, her unwavering dedication to her family, and her commitment to her profession.
Marilyn's journey began as a graduate of Fontbonne Academy in Milton, where she laid the foundations of her nurturing character and her desire to help others. Her passion for caring led her to the Shephard-Gill Nursing School at Mass General Hospital, where she honed her skills and emerged as a compassionate caregiver. Marilyn's professional life was marked by her many years of dedicated service as a nurse at Milton Hospital, following her previous role at Hollywell Nursing Home in Randolph. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of warmth and professionalism, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.
Beyond her professional achievements, Marilyn's heart belonged to her family. She was the devoted mother of Richard Dufault Jr. and his husband Paul Clougher of Warwick, RI, and Danielle Dufault of Hull. She is also survived by her former husband Richard Dufault of Quincy. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, guiding her children with love, wisdom, and the occasional shopping trip that would brighten any day. Marilyn's sisterly bond was equally strong with her sisters, Leslie Landry of Naples, FL and Joanne Morrissey of Hingham, and she carried fond memories of her late brother, George Landry III.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her brother in law Bryan Morrissey.
Marilyn's interests were simple yet profound. She found joy in the laughter of her family, the thrill of a good find while shopping, and the quiet moments that life often offers. She will be missed.
A private graveside service will be held at Milton Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to Norwell VNA & Hospice 120 Longwater Dr. Norwell, MA 02061
