Luigi D. “Louie” Ferrara, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025. Born in Campobasso, Italy, where he was raised and educated. He arrived in the US at 14 years old and continued his education. Louie was the owner and operator of Campus Auto Body for 30 plus years, then working for Quirk Ford in Quincy and Neponset Lincoln Mercury in Dorchester. He served in the National Guard as a young man.
He enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts, gardening, fishing, and working on his classic automobile. A devoted husband, Louie leaves behind his beloved wife, Ilona Ferrara (Ames), whom he loved deeply and who stood by his side in every chapter of life. He was the proud father of Cathy Abner and her husband Steve of Scituate, John Ferrara and his wife Larisa of Weymouth, Bill Ferrara of Lowell, Jim Ferrara and his wife Christine of Quincy, and Lisa F. Humphrey and her husband Steven of Virginia. His legacy also includes his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Abner, Anastasia, Anthony, Danny, Nick, and Jackie Ferrara, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Louie was predeceased by his daughter, the late Deanna Ferrara, whose memory continued to be a guiding light in his life.
Brother of Augustino Ferrara of Braintree, Tony Ferrara of Weymouth, Velia Padula of Quincy and the late John Ferrara, Tito Ferrara, Linda Ferrara, Anna Hamel, and Carolina Ferrara; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral service at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday at 12:00 noon. Visiting hours will be prior to the service Thursday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
