Luella "Sweet Lou" Meneely Obituary

Luella A. Meneely, of Milton, formerly of Dorchester, a loving, kind, and friendly woman, passed away on October 26, 2023. She was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where she also attended Boston Schools. Throughout her life, Luella was known for her sweet, caring nature, and her ability to never utter a bad word about anyone.

Luella was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Meneely, who she loved and cared for deeply. She was a devoted mother to Paul Meneely and his wife Theresa of Dorchester, and the late Linda G. McLean and Carol Meneely. Her love for her family extended to her grandchildren, Christine Meneely, Courtney Kitchen, Lisa McLean, Kristen Barros, Suzanne McLean, William McLean, and Robert McLean, and the late Carolyn McLean, whom she cherished greatly. Luella was also a dear sister to Dorothy Garrity of Quincy and the late Robert Ranton. She was also survived by several great grandchildren. 

In her professional life, Luella worked in Food Services for the Boston Public Schools for a decade. She was dedicated to her work and took great pride in nourishing the minds of the future through nutritious meals. Beyond her professional commitments, Luella was also a devoted homemaker, providing a warm and loving environment for her family.

Luella had a deep love for music, animals, and singing. She was often found humming a tune while preparing meals or tending to her beloved pets. Her love for music was infectious, often filling her home with joyful melodies that will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.

Luella will be remembered for her loving nature and kind spirit. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved. Her friendly demeanor and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her.

In her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Luella's life was a testament to her belief in the power of love and kindness, and these values will be carried forward by her family and friends.

We remember Luella not just for her accomplishments, but for the love and warmth she brought into our lives. She was a beacon of positivity, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed.

Luella A. Meneely was a remarkable woman, whose love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life she lived, filled with love, music, and unending kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral Service will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Tuesday morning October 31st at 11:00 am.  Visiting hours Monday October 30th 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Burial Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
