Karl Fitch Obituary

Karl D. Fitch, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2026, in Snellville, GA, formerly from (Hyde Park & Quincy) at the age of 69. Born in Boston on January 19, 1957, he was the beloved son of the late Richard O. Fitch and Ruth E. (Ovesen) Fitch. His warm presence and kind-hearted spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Karl is survived by his adoring family, including his sister Kristine White and her husband Steven of Georgia, his brother Glenn Fitch and his husband Alfredo Claro of Snellville, GA, his niece Nicole Lee and her husband Patrick, nephews Joshua White and James White, great-niece Skylar Lee, a Lifelong very dear friend Rich Pond and his wife Elizabeth and many cousins and friends. His close-knit family cherished every moment spent with Karl, and his absence will leave an irreplaceable void in their lives.

Professionally, Karl was highly regarded for his expertise and dedication. He spent many years with The New England Life Insurance Company in their IT department, where he was respected for his problem-solving abilities and collaborative spirit. Over the last 20 plus years, he brought his talents to the IT department at Mass General Brigham, where his contributions were invaluable. His colleagues will remember him not only for his professional acumen but also for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand.

An avid record collector and music fan, Karl found joy in the melodies and histories of his extensive music collection. He had a particular knack for discovering rare and unique vinyl records, which he often shared with friends and family during gatherings that were filled with laughter and music. Karl's love of travel took him on numerous adventures, both near and far, creating memories that he treasured deeply.

Above all, Karl loved to spend time with his family. Whether it was a simple weeknight dinner, a family holiday celebration, or an impromptu visit, he always brought love and thoughtfulness to the table. His kind and loving nature made him a pillar of strength and support within his family circle.

Karl will be remembered as a loving, kind, and thoughtful individual who left a lasting impact on the hearts of those he encountered. His ability to listen, his gentle guidance, and his unwavering support were just a few of the qualities that made him extraordinary. Karl's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends for years to come.

Karl loved our country and its history. He was a member of the Button Gwinnett Chapter of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution and a member of the Georgia SAR Color Guard. He was a descendant of David Fitch who fought at the Battle of Lexington and Concord. He will be greatly missed by his Compatriots.

As we bid farewell to Karl D. Fitch, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, music, and meaningful connections. His story is one of compassion, generosity, and the enduring power of family bonds. Though he has left this world, his spirit remains a guiding light for all who loved him.
