Julia M. McEleney (Brennan) of Quincy passed away January 23rd at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, she was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School. She worked as a Window Clerk at the Quincy Center Post Office before retiring and previously worked for the South Postal Annex. Julia was a longtime communicant of St. Agatha Church in Milton, an active member of the Quincy Senior Center and enjoyed the Quincy Fore River Club’s Exercise Group.
Beloved wife of the late Owen P. Mother of Mary Strassel and her husband Paul of Cotuit, Michael McEleney of Quincy, Jerry McEleney and his wife Pamela of Canton, Dennis McEleney of Quincy, Owen B. McEleney and his wife Elizabeth of Wakefield. Grandmother of Heather Strassel of Paris, France, Paul Strassel of Cotuit, Gerard McEleney & J. Kirsten McEleney both of S. Boston, and Emma and Owen P. McEleney both of Wakefield. Sister of Ann Crewe of Stoneham, Margaret Fitz of Hollis, ME, and the late Veronica Dagle, Paul Brennan and Mary Moschos. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton Thursday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
