Funeral service at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday morning at 11:00 am. Visiting hours prior to the service Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Burial private.
John P. Shaughnessey, age 57, of Dorchester passed away July 22nd at the South Shore Hospital. Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Madison Park High School. He worked many years for Eversource as an Underground Splicer. Growing up he enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. John was also a car enthusiast and loved cruising in his custom GTO.
Beloved son of Janet F. Shaughnessey (Maloney) of Dorchester and the late Francis L. Shaughnessey. Father of Corey Shaughnessey of Pembroke and Sarah Shaughnessey of Pembroke. Brother of Paul Shaughnessey and his wife Kathleen of Dorchester. Uncle of Kara McLaughlin and her husband Adrian of Quincy, Jessica Shaughnessey and her fiancé Oisin McDonagh of Braintree, and Melissa Shaughnessey and her fiancé Matthew Miller of FL. Also survived by great niece's and nephew and many cousins.
