Jeremiah J. “Butch” Mahoney, age 71, of Canton, formerly of Milton passed away unexpectedly June 28th. Born and raised in Milton, he graduated from Milton High School and Massasoit Community College. As a teenager Butch worked for Hyannisport Country Club as a caddy, occasionally for President Kennedy. Butch worked as a union construction laborer for many years working on the Big Dig and Zakim Bridge and many other projects throughout the City of Boston. He also previously worked for Cunningham Park in Milton.
Devoted son of the late Jeremiah J. and Ann P. Mahoney. Brother of Barbara A. White of Canton, Kevin J. Mahoney and his wife Diane of Milton, Susan E. Mahoney of Canton, and the late Priscilla Broderick. Uncle of Richard J. White and his wife Heidi of Milton, Timothy D. Broderick and his wife Lisa of Tewksbury, Jason Mahoney of Brighton, Keira Mahoney, Peter Mahoney, and Justin Mahoney all of Milton. Funeral service at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Friday morning at 11:00 am. Visiting hours Thursday 4- 7 pm. Burial Milton Cemetery.
