Jean D. Mullen of Milton, MA passed peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 97. Born at home in Dorchester, she moved to Milton at the age of 4 months. She attended Milton schools graduating in 1945 and enjoying MHS reunions for 55 years. Jean married Walter J. Mullen (1923-2015) also of Milton in 1950. She was the daughter of Ralph and Rose (Shanney) DuMoulin and sister of the late Rita Graham of Quincy.
Jean spent many happy years working in the Milton High School Guidance office, regretfully retiring in 1995. After retirement she was active in St. Agatha’s Parish, the Milton Council on Aging and the Cunningham Women’s Bowling League and as a longtime member of Fitness Unlimited in East Milton Square, until she was 89.
Jean is survived by her daughter Dianne Barber of Quincy. Grandmother to Nicole (Mullen) Bulman of Abington, and great grandmother to Braedyn Bulman. Dear friend of Karin Comproni and her Fitness Unlimited “First Friday” Lunch Girls.
Dianne would like to thank the exceptional staff at Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for their care of Jean as a resident of the Assisted Living facility as well as the Nursing Care Facility.
Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Tuesday March 11th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton Wednesday morning March 12th at 10:30. Burial Milton Cemetery.
