Janet M. Harrington of Quincy passed away September 28th at the South Shore Hospital. Born in Boston, she attended St. Ann’s Grammar School in Neponset, she was the Valedictorian of St. John’s High School in Cambridge Class of 1948 and went on to graduate from Mass General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952. Janet served in the United States Air Force Nursing Corp from 1952 to 1955 and later worked as an RN for Quincy City Hospital from 1956 to 1990. After retirement she enjoyed knitting at the Snow Goose in Milton. Loving daughter of the late George and Mary (Curley) Harrington. Sister of the late H. Claire, John F., and James J. Harrington. Funeral Mass at (Divine Mercy Parish), St. Mary’s Church 95 Crescent St. Quincy Tuesday morning at 10:00. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Tuesday morning prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Burial St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Divine Mercy Parish, 387 Hancock St. N. Quincy, MA 02171.
