James Hogan Obituary

James M. Hogan, age 83, of Scituate, Massachusetts, passed away on November 24, 2024. Born on February 19, 1941, in Quincy, James was the beloved son of the late Jeanette and Arthur Hogan. A graduate of Milton High School and Northeastern University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, James went on to build a successful career that began at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. His pursuit of knowledge led him to obtain a master’s degree from the University of Indiana, where he also contributed his talents in the admissions department.

James's professional journey was marked by his roles as an executive at various esteemed corporations, where he was respected for his leadership and vision. Despite his professional accomplishments, James found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life after retirement. He embraced the serenity of his oceanside community in Scituate, often seen bicycling, walking, and soaking in the coastal beauty that surrounded him.

Family was the cornerstone of James's life. He loved his large and close-knit family, taking immense pride in the bonds they shared. His presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and joy, and his stories and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted brother, Paul, and sister-in-law, Mary Jo; his loving sisters, Cheryll Hogan and Patricia Cavanaugh; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews who looked up to their uncle with great admiration. James was predeceased by his brother Arthur, and sisters Jeanette Daley and Loraley Griffin, who have welcomed him with open arms in eternal rest.

James M. Hogan's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and the pursuit of happiness. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a viewing to be held from 8:30-9:30am on Tuesday December 3 at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home in East Milton. A Funeral Mass in celebration of James's life will follow at St. Elizabeth Parish in Milton at 10:00 a.m. The final commendation and farewell will take place at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury, where James will be laid to rest.
