Jackie embraced life with open arms and always saw the positive side. She loved each stage of her life, first as a loving supportive wife of Jack, as well as to her three children. Jackie loved working and planning events. While raising her young family, she was involved for many years with the St. Agatha’s Guild organizing social events for the church. Since the 1950s Jackie had a weekly bridge group that remained friends throughout their lifetimes. She was a former reporter for the Patriot Ledger. She covered the Milton Town Hall meetings and then typed away on her standard typewriter throughout the night. As her family grew older she found a “home away from home” at Milton Academy where she worked for 25 years as an Administrator in the Middle School. She also planned activities and events that remain traditions today. She was loved by faculty and students and was “mother” to many of the boarding students. The Middle School Class of “97” dedicated their Year Book to her. It was while she was working at the Academy that she earned her BA in Psychology at U. Mass Boston, an accomplishment of which she and her family were very proud. In 2000 it was time for Jackie and her husband Jack to enter a new chapter in their lives when they moved to Fuller Village. As a resident there she was the leader and organizer of the first Activities Committee and went on to establish and be actively involved in many other committees throughout her residency. Jackie, along with others, started the Blue Hills Book Club. Her free time was spent playing bridge, poker and Mahjong which she learned from her cherished friends. Jackie was always involved and loved her life at Fuller Village. To quote the Milton Academy Middle School “97” dedication Jackie will always be remembered and appreciated for “a thousand acts of kindness, love and dedication” In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
