Helen "Honey" V, Picco Obituary

Helen "Honey" V. Picco, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, just one day shy of her 94th birthday. Born on June 23, 1931, to the late Frank and Mabel Guest, Honey was a lifelong source of joy and friendship to all who knew her.

Raised in the close-knit community of Dorchester, Honey was a proud alumna of Girls High Roxbury, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of determination. Honey was extremely proud of her 44 year career as an Operator & several other positions at New England Telephone and Verizon and has enjoyed her retirement for the last 33 years.

Honey's heart was always with her family. Beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Picco She was the cherished mother of Tim Picco and his late wife Patti of Marshfield, Michael Picco and his wife Elaine of Braintree, Noreen Remmes of Milton, Nancy Picco-Conroy and her husband Dee of W. Barnstable, Theresa Picco of Pensacola FL, Patricia "Cheekie" Farrell of N. Eastham, and the late Baby Stephen Picco. She was predeceased by her siblings John Guest, Marie Duff, and Buddy Guest. Honey's legacy continues through her adored 12 grandchildren (Lauren, Lisa, Jenna, Steven, Chris, Cali, Matthew, Michaela, Evan, Oscar, Owen and Kerry) and 12 great-grandchildren (Gianna, Hunter, Tommy, Kayla, Kiley, Madison, Jack, Jay Thomas (late), Casey, Brody, Lily and Lennon), who will miss their Honey dearly as they added so much joy to her life, as well as by many loving nieces and nephews, and dear friends who were touched by her funny and kind spirit.

Honey's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She was an avid sun worshiper, relishing time spent at the beach or by the pool, basking in the warmth especially at Nantasket Beach & Dubois Park. Line dancing and “Tiles” were her passion. Winter months were joyously spent at Twin Lakes in Stuart, FL, for the last 33 years where she continued to embrace the sunshine and the companionship of friends.

Crocheting and sewing were more than hobbies for Honey; they were expressions of her love, with every stitch she imbued with care. Her handmade gifts were treasures, cherished reminders of her talent and generosity.

Helen "Honey" V. Picco lived a life marked by love, friendship, and kindness. Her radiant smile and gentle heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the countless memories and the enduring love she shared with us all. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding us with the same love and warmth with which she lived her life.
