George O. Francis, a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023, at the age of 87. Born in Grenada on June 3, 1936, to Lawrence Baritteau and Margaret Francis, George was a beacon of kindness, thoughtfulness, and love throughout his life.

George is survived by his beloved children, Kenny Francis of Quincy, Jennifer Francis and Pauline Francis of Brooklyn, NY, and his Foster son Brent Hostens of St. Georges, Grenada. He was a proud and doting grandfather to Omari Francis of Queens, NY. George is also survived by his siblings Eleanor Noel Beswick, Rosa Jones, Vera Barriteau, and Val-Marie, all of London, and was predeceased by his siblings Augustine Francis, Sagga Francis, Margaret Francis, Cuthbert Francis, and Ralph Munro.

As a skilled Stone Mason at the MDC, George's craftsmanship can be seen in structures all around the city of Boston, including the storage units on the Charles River Esplanade, South Boston Hockey Rink, and various pools around the city of Boston. He took great pride in his work and was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need.

George was an avid baseball fan and passionately supported the New York Yankees. His love for the sport was infectious, and he enjoyed discussing games and sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. In addition to baseball, George had a deep appreciation for nature and took great pleasure in tending to his mango trees. He also enjoyed indulging in malt beverages while spending time with friends and family.

A man of deep faith, George was a devout follower of God and found solace in Caribbean gospel music. Baptized in Trinidad in 1988, he was always ready to share his love and appreciation for the divine with others, and his faith was an inspiration to those around him. George was a social man who enjoyed going downtown to people-watch and engage in lively conversations with passersby.

Above all, George was a family man who took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children. He considered them his greatest achievements and was always eager to share stories of their successes with those around him.

George's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and generosity that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

As we remember and celebrate the life of George O. Francis, let us keep his spirit alive by following his example of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for all who knew him and may he rest in peace.
