Fay Fahey Obituary

Fay E. Fahey (Hartnett) of Quincy passed away April 30th at Season’s Hospice in Milton.  Born in Boston, she graduated from Everett High School and Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a Registered Nurse at New England Medical Center in Boston for many years before retiring and also had previously worked as a Teller at Milton Savings Bank.

Beloved wife of John J.  Mother of John J. Fahey, Jr. and his wife Heather of Duxbury, Mark W. Fahey and his wife Cynthia of Plymouth, and Matthew J. Fahey of Houston.  Grandmother of Graysen, Quinlin, and Declan.  Sister of Arlene Walker of Toamna, VA. and Jean (Salvi) Samz deceased. Aunt to Lauren Fahey of Dedham, Michele Geesman of VA., Chris Spencer of FL., Jeff Schultz of WA., Elizabeth Moriarty of Woburn, Patricia Klayman of East Taunton and Peggy Riley of Dorchester.  Fay was a devoted member of the Legion of Mary at St Agatha’s parish for many years.  Fay enjoyed a long retirement and did a lot of traveling, visiting many tropical destinations in addition to Costa Rica for her son John’s wedding.  She also visited Nova Scotia and Ireland, places of family heritage.  Fay loved spending time at the family cape house in Chatham.  She loved to garden, cook and spend time with her cherished grandchildren.  In 2018, Fay had an operation to remove a tumor in her pancreas.  After recovering from surgery, she made a pilgrimage to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.  Most recently complications from her surgery forced a rapid decline in her health.  Fay never took a single day for granted and in the end felt blessed for the life she lived.
