Eileen Byrne Obituary

Eileen M. Byrne, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Born in Boston, Eileen was a lifelong Milton resident and also summered in Duxbury for many years. She was a graduate of the Milton Schools and received an Associate's Degree from Boston University. Throughout her career she was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Local, State and Federal Government. In this capacity she worked at the Pentagon, for Attorney General Francis Bellotti's Office, the Boston Postal Headquarters on Congress St. and had also worked for the Milton Public Schools for a number of years. Eileen was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Cunningham Park Women's Bowling League, the Castle Island Assn, a member of the Wollaston Golf Club and an active member of the Milton Council on Aging. The beloved daughter of the late James and Mary Byrne, she was the devoted sister of Mary E. Collins of East Falmouth, Richard G. Byrne and his wife Carol of Holbrook and the late James Byrne and Agnes Higgins. Eileen is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Thursday, January 24th at 11am. Visiting will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, from Thursday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to Mass. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
