Eileen Allen Obituary

Eileen (Collins) Allen, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024. Eileen was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, November 28, 1940 to the late Timothy Collins of Skibbereen Co Cork and Eileen (Doherty) Collins whose parents are from Ballina Co Mayo. Eileen attended and graduated from Marycliff Academy. She began her professional journey with Boston Gas Company, embodying a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. However, Eileen's true calling was to her family; she retired early from her career to devote herself fully to raising her children—a role she embraced with love and dedication.

Eileen was the beloved wife of Anthony M. Allen, and together they built a beautiful life where they raised their family in Milton. She was a guiding light to her children, Anthony M. Allen Jr. and his wife Paula, Eileen M. Carter and her husband Brian, Noreen Allen, and Timothy Allen and his wife Christine. Her wisdom and warmth extended to her siblings, brother Timothy "Kieran" Collins and his wife Roberta and sister Sheila Collins Thomson and her daughter Kerry Shedd. Eileen's legacy of love continued through her 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of their time with her. Though the family mourns the loss of her grandson Teagan Mullen, they take solace in knowing that Eileen has been reunited with him.

In earlier years, Eileen loved attending the Irish dances at Hibernian Hall as well as the Irish Social Club of West Roxbury where her mom was the financial secretary. Her dad was well known for his accordian playing in the Boston area Irish clubs, and also played weekly for the Lexington Irish Step dancers where he went on to win the Ted Mack Amateur show and won the finals on national television in New York 1970.

A devout Catholic, Eileen played an active role in the Charismatic Movement at St. Thomas More Church in Braintree. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life guiding her through her actions.

Eileen's unwavering love and the values she instilled in her family will continue to resonate through generations.

As we bid farewell to Eileen, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. Her kindness, and her enduring love will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Eileen's spirit, characterized by her loving and faith-filled presence, will continue to guide us, reminding us of the beauty in life's simple pleasures and the importance of family.

Eileen's journey through life was marked by the love she shared and the faith she held dear. Her memory will be treasured and her presence sorely missed. Though she has left this earthly realm, the impact of her love and faith will forever be felt. Rest in peace, dear Eileen, until we meet again.
