Edward Villard Obituary

Edward J. Villard, age 68, retired Milton PD, passed away February 26th.  Born and raised in Milton, he graduated from Milton High Class of 1973 and was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era.  He went on to graduate from Ricker College with a BA in Business, Massasoit Community College with an Associates in Law Enforcement and an Associates in Media Science, a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College, and earned a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Ed worked as a Police Officer in the Town of Milton for 30 years before retiring in 2010.  With the Department he served as the D.A.R.E. Officer, Community Police Officer, Elder Affairs Officer, Police Photographer, and an Emergency Medical Technician.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 114, an active member and former Commissioner of the Boy Scouts in Milton, a member of the Quincy Elks, the Quincy Mason Lodge, the K of C Council in Quincy, a Milton Town Meeting Member, Veteran’s Affairs Officer, Coastline Security Officer, Massachusetts RMV Security Officer and he also worked for Emerson College as a Police Officer after retirement.  Ed was a longtime member of the Milton Community and one of the Town’s most active residents. 

Beloved husband of the late Maura J. (Donovan).  Father of Edward L. Villard and his wife Sarah of Medway and Ryan W. Villard and his wife Kaitlin of Milton.  Son of the late Edward M. Villard, MPD, and Geraldine (Mulligan) Villard. Brother of Katherine Doyle and her husband Stephen of Weymouth and Jean Stapleton and her husband Matthew of Dedham.  Grandfather of Jackson and Emma Villard of Medway.  Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton Friday morning at 10:00.  Burial Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Faustman Lab at Mass General Hospital at www.faustmanlab.org
