Edward J. Locke

Locke, Edward J., of Hingham, passed away June 5, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Locke was raised in West Roxbury and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from his job as a Stock Market Analyst, a career he pursued for many years. Earlier in his life Mr. Locke previously worked for John Hancock as a Commercial Lender. He enjoyed summering at Humarock Beach and Long Pond in Plymouth. Edward loved walking Nantasket Beach, spending time at the Hingham Library, winter vacations in Naples, FL, as well as, skiing at Killington in Vermont.

The beloved husband of Judith M. (Ashman), he was the devoted father of Thomas J. Locke and his wife Lynne of Hingham, Stephen D. Locke of South Boston and Diana V. Smith and her husband Eric of Norwell. Edward is also survived by his brothers and sister, Richard Locke and his wife Janet of CA, Robert Locke and his wife Janice of Westwood, Jean Hunt of Plymouth, and Joseph J. “Bud” McCluskey, Jr. and his wife Mary of Utah, as well as, his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Locke, Vivian and Callen Smith and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Monday morning, June 10, 2019 at 10. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston. Veteran of the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Pat Roche Hospice, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA 02043.
