Edward F. Coughlin, age 95, of Milton passed away July 28th. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mattapan and graduated from Hyde Park High School. Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving 4 years during WW II and 4 additional years in the Navy Reserves. He worked for 40 years as a Salesman for Graybar Electrical in Boston before retiring. Ed had lived in Milton for over 60 years and was an active member of the community, serving as a Milton Town Meeting member for 22 years, a volunteer for the Milton High School Scholarship Committee, a coach and manager for the Milton Babe Ruth and Little League Baseball, a coach for Milton Pee Wee and Bantam Youth Hockey, and was the Coach for the St. Agatha New England Championship Hockey Team.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth M. Coughlin (Sullivan). Father of Edward J. Coughlin and his wife Julie of Needham, Sharon E. Coughlin of Milton, and Neal F. Coughlin and his wife Nancy of Milton. Brother of the late Gloria Hurley and the late Joseph I. Coughlin. Grandfather of Andrew Coughlin, Kristina Sanchez, Christopher Gilbert, Colin Coughlin, and Joseph Coughlin. Great grandfather of Ander and Isabel Sanchez.
Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton Thursday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours omitted. Burial Milton Cemetery.
