Dorothy M. Blake (Courtney), age 93, of Milton passed away May 4th. Born in Boston, she was raised in Milton and graduated from Milton High School Class of 1944. After high school she entered the Carney Hospital School of Nursing under the Cadet Corp Nursing Program. Dotty had a long career as an RN at Carney Hospital where she was a Nursing Supervisor. She was a Girl Scout Leader, active with the Milton Meals on Wheels, a member of the Milton Firefighters Wives Assn. Dotty was a great seamstress and also enjoyed spending time with her family at Big Sandy Pond in Plymouth.
Beloved wife of the late Robert J. (retired Milton Fire Chief). Mother of Maureen Brennan and her husband John of Needham and Donna Daly and her husband James of Milton. Grandmother of Robert Brennan, Kevin Brennan, James Daly and his wife Kristen (Newcomb), Jennifer Daly, and Teresa Anshewitz. Great grandmother of Molly and James Daly. A private graveside service will be held at Milton Cemetery and a memorial mass will be held at a later date to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Milton Firefighters Relief Association, 515 Canton Avenue, Milton, MA 02186.
