Dorothea V. Shea Obituary
Dorothea V. Shea passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, in Taunton, Massachusetts.
Born on December 27, 1954, to parents James T. and Dorothea V. Shea, Dorothea grew up in Boston, where she attended South Boston High School. She had a close group of friends throughout her early years of life with whom she shared many laughs and adventures. Dorothea went on to make friends and memories throughout her life in a variety of careers, most recently as a supervisor for the Massachusetts Highway Department before her retirement.
Family was the cornerstone of Dorothea's world. She is survived by her loving life partner, Jeffrey Killeen. She was a cherished mother to Kerri McClellan and her husband, Brandon, of Abington, and Alex Shea Will of Dorchester. Dorothea was also a beloved sister to Diane McAlpine and her late husband, Francis, of Bourne, and Brian Shea and his wife, Randi, of Somerville, and sister-in-law to Betty Shea, of Milton. She held dear the memory of her late brothers, James T. Shea, John J. Shea, and Roy Melanson, as well as her sister-in-law, Karen Melanson.
Dorothea enjoyed fun trips to the casinos, traveling, and crafting, but what she cherished most was time spent as grandmother to Shea, Aidan, and Olivia McClellan.
Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave., Milton on Monday September 9th from 10:00am-12:00pm. A short memorial service, at the funeral home, will begin immediately following the visiting hours at 12:00 PM.
