Dennis J. Jackson, a cherished and respected member of the Boston community, passed away peacefully at Boston Medical Center. Dennis was a man whose kindness, humor, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, Dennis carried with him the strong values and work ethic of his Midwestern upbringing throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of the local high school in Rhinelander, after which he honorably served his country in two tours of duty in Vietnam with the United States Army. Upon returning to civilian life, he furthered his education at Nicolet College in Wisconsin and completed his undergraduate degree with distinction at UMass Boston.
Upon graduation, Dennis channeled his leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit into the founding of several successful real estate businesses in Boston, in which he served as broker, manager, and developer. He was widely known for his kindness and for deep integrity in his professional life.
Dennis was the beloved husband of the late Anne Bernadette “Bernie” (Ryan) and together they cared for several rescued dogs. He was greatly loved and esteemed by his extended family and many friends. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Schmidt of Florida, and Vicki Jackson of Newton.
Dennis loved the outdoors and found joy and tranquility in freshwater fishing and spending time near the ocean. He also had a deep passion for football and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.
Dennis J. Jackson will be remembered for his wry sense of humor and his ability to make anyone feel comfortable. He was deeply kind and generous, always the first to extend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. He will be greatly missed.
