Catherine T. Biggi, a beacon of kindness and generosity, passed away on July 22, 2024, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, Catherine's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her community.
A proud daughter of the late Louis and Catherine Biggi, Catherine carried the legacy of her parents with grace and compassion. She was the cherished sister of Joanne Contardo and her husband Leonard of Arlington, and the loving aunt of Anthony Contardo, also of Arlington. Her family was a central part of her life, and her role as a sister and aunt was filled with love, guidance, and joyful moments that will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Catherine was a distinguished alumna of Stonehill College, where she completed her education that paved the way for a remarkable career in Accounting. Her professional journey as a Certified Public Accountant and Comptroller at G.T. Reilly & Co. in Milton spanned an impressive 50 years. Throughout her tenure, Catherine's expertise, diligence, and ethical standards earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the broader business community.
Her commitment to her profession was paralleled only by her devotion to her faith. A devout Catholic, Catherine was a familiar face at St. Mary of the Hills Church, St. Elizabeth's Church, and St. Agatha Church, all in Milton. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Catherine's presence in the church community was marked by her active participation and the joy she found in the fellowship of her congregation.
Those who knew Catherine would describe her as faith-filled, generous, and kind. She lived her life as a reflection of these virtues, constantly seeking ways to contribute to the well-being of others and to spread warmth and love. Catherine's generosity was not limited to her financial support but was also evident in the time she devoted to her family, her work, and her church.
As we bid farewell to Catherine T. Biggi, we celebrate a life that was rich in purpose and love. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the impact one individual can have through a life lived with faith and kindness. Catherine's legacy will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Catherine's passing leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends, but we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit remains with us. We honor her life by carrying forward the values she embodied so beautifully—faith, generosity, and kindness. May she rest in peace, secure in the love of those she leaves behind and the everlasting embrace of her faith.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital for their compassionate care during Catherine's final days. We find comfort in knowing that she was surrounded by such dedicated and caring professionals in her time of need.
Catherine's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at her beloved St. Elizabeth's Church, with interment to follow at the family plot. Her spirit, teachings, and love will remain with us always, guiding us like a soft light through the paths of our own lives.
