Carol La Vita Obituary

Carol A. La Vita (Melendy) of Milton passed away at home on August 29th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, she graduated from St. Clements High School in Somerville and Mt. Auburn School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Milton Hospital for more than 20 years before retiring in 2010. Carol was extremely devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandson Mikey. She also loved spending the day at the beach and working in her garden. 

Mother of Michael S. La Vita and his wife Carolyn of Milton and Anthony P. La Vita and his wife Lauren of Fairway, KS. Grandmother of Mikey La Vita of Milton. Sister of Robert Melendy and his wife Julie of Beaumont, CA, and the late Charles A. Melendy and his late wife Carolyn previously of Milton. Also survived by her former husband Michele La Vita of Derry, NH. Donations can be made in Carol’s name to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center or Autism Speaks. Visiting hours will be at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home at 326 Granite Ave in Milton on Thursday September 2nd from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will at St. Elizabeth Church in Milton on Friday September 3rd at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Milton Cemetery.
