Carol Hoban Obituary

Carol A. Hoban (Moran), of Milton a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at Accent Health Care in Milton. Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester, Carol's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her family and community.

As the beloved wife of the late James L. Hoban Jr., Carol's love story was one of true partnership and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family that became her pride and joy: her sons James L. Hoban III and his wife Patty of Pembroke, Daniel L. Hoban of Providence, RI, and her daughter Lynne Hoban of Quincy. Carol's legacy continued to blossom with the joy brought by her grandchildren, Bridget Robitaille and her husband Ron, Rachael Hoban, William Hoban, and Joseph Hoban, each of whom she cherished with all her heart.  Great grandmother of Isabelle, Quinlin, and Ron Jr.

Carol's early years were spent in the familiar surroundings of Dorchester, where her character was shaped amidst the vibrant life of the neighborhood. A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School, she carried the lessons learned and friendships made there throughout her entire life.

Professionally, Carol was a pillar of strength and hope for many as she ran the Quincy Detox Center (Faxon Recovery) for two decades. Her commitment to the center was more than a job; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and dedication, touching the lives of countless individuals and families.

Carol's interests extended beyond her professional endeavors. She relished the adventures she shared with her husband, traveling to destinations like Las Vegas and Saratoga Springs, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Yet, despite her love for travel, Carol was most devoted to her family, always putting their needs and happiness above her own.

Those who knew Carol would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and selfless. Her actions spoke volumes of her character, as she lived a life that embodied the very essence of these words. She was a source of comfort and strength, a woman whose presence was a sanctuary for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we bid farewell to Carol mom, grammy, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and generosity. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.

Carol's journey on earth may have come to a peaceful end, but her influence will resonate for generations to come. She has left an indelible mark on this world, one that will be remembered for its warmth, compassion, and unwavering commitment to others.

In honoring Carol's life, we reflect on the love she shared, the lives she improved, and the unwavering faith that guided her every step. We take solace in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved "Laurie" and that her spirit remains with us, guiding us with the same love and selflessness she exemplified in life.

Carol A. Hoban's story is one of a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will endure. As we say goodbye, we are comforted by the knowledge that her journey was of purpose and that she has found peace in her eternal home.
